Why did people get mad at me when i asked a question about abortion?

I am against it, i do not like killing human beings. Although i get why some people would want to do it, say they were d, but if you had the choice and were not forced, and you didn't use protection, i think it is your fault and you should just deal with what you did. but people were calling me a mean thoughtless person when i said it SHOULD be illegal, im so confused.
