Swaddling??
Wow, you got two surprising answers to this question I didn't expect! I've read that swaddling too long can hinder mobility but I think that more refers to the length of time they spend swaddled in a day rather than how many months they are swaddled for. I would say don't do it during the day, there's no need to swaddle, just put a blanket on them if they are a little chilly. Swaddling makes babies feel secure, comforted, comfortable and sleep longer. Not to mention it helps them regulate their body temperature. Babies who are swaddled are quite safe, considering they are less likely to roll over onto their faces which is not a safe sleeping position for them and they are less likely to kick bedding on top of them. My daughter is three months and I lightly swaddle her under her armpits because she likes her hands and arms free. But her legs and torso are swaddled and I put a blanket that I tuck into both sides of the crib over top of her as well. She sleeps from 11p.m. to 8a.m. and I'm sure it has something to do with her feeling so snug and secure but in the daytime she's never wrapped up, even to nap. Good luck, and go with what your gut tells you!
