Step-parents over-stepping boundary lines?

okay, so i'm 18 going on 19. my step-mom thinks she can tell me what i can and cannot watch. i'm a big fan of slasher films and she freaks out when i watch them. i'm generally nice but i can't help thinking she's over-stepping her boundary line as STEP-mother. am i wrong or right?
